The Circumstances

SpencerMaurice was engaged to advise on the design and implementation of a revised operational governance and performance management framework to support the Place Design and Public Spaces (PDPS) division (approx. 1500 FTE), to drive greater responsibility and accountability for the delivery of key programs of work.

SpencerMaurice was engaged to design a revised corporate governance and performance reporting framework, and support the implementation of the updated framework for the PDPS division of Planning.     

A program governance and performance reporting framework was co-designed with members of the PDPS executive to improve executive visibility of performance and program progress for the major strategic programs handled by PDPS, including programs that span multiple NSW Government agencies and NSW Local Government entities. This encompassed all levels of program delivery reporting, from Ministerial reporting to team level program delivery.                 

Our work included detailed recommendations, development of revised KPIs, and an implementation plan for reconfiguration of existing data collection and analysis, utilising their existing Smartsheet platform to implement enhanced standardised program performance tracking, data collection, automatically generated reports, and dashboards.                           

SpencerMaurice provided embedded support and coaching to assist with the rapid implementation and change management program. This included embedded coaching and training to uplift capability, to ensure a consistent approach to reporting, performance measurement, and evaluation was in place.
