NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions – Business Case Development

The Circumstances

The NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions needed to rapidly develop two separate business cases. The first business case related to information technology investments, and the second related to funding to cover workforce overtime and flex-time.

Each business case required substantial stakeholder engagement to gather the required information for the case for change, develop the program / investment logic, and to develop the base case and options. Each business case was prepared rapidly within a four-week period, using NSW Treasury TPG23-08 and TPG22-04 guidelines.

The work produced a thorough documentation of the initiatives, financial analysis and forecasting, and the development of a detailed cost benefit analysis, examining the base case funding and alternative scenarios.
